Color: An Important Aspect of Business

The world was once black and white. The television had black and white programs and publications were mostly black. However, in the 60s, all that changed to what we see today. Therefore, we know color is now the best means of drawing attention to any media.

We each have our own tastes. Therefore, different people have different ideas in associating colors with products. There is no actual answer on what the best color would be for a product and at one time everything was done by chance. Now you can now find the best equipment and personnel in the design and printing industry that help produce beautiful labels. The same importance is now applied to producing the appropriate label as it is to producing a product. There are many family owned companies that guarantee in creating a label with 100% satisfaction and that gives a lasting impression.

Getting brand awareness that gives a lasting impression is a point of major concern for most companies today. By using a variety of logo or product colors you may decrease your marketing efforts. Furthermore, the effectiveness of retail space is greatly reduced with the wrong colors. Sometimes, the variety of colors from different products may make a unique product blend with other products on the store shelf. Therefore, uniformity of a color is very important in creating brand awareness and a presence in the retail atmosphere.

The best way of making a product stand out from other products is with colors and materials that pop. Large manufacturers know that value and this is why they are always striving for color brilliance. You too, are sure to experience increased sales when your product has good shelf appeal.

Colors have a psychological influence in marketing
The effect of colors in influencing the mind of the prospective customer is high. The moods and the sentiments are represented with colors. Symbolic representation is not blind, but an effective way of communicating the feelings spontaneously and strongly.

The changes we observe on earth with the advent of spring, the blossoming of the colorful plants and the joyful moods of the birds and other living beings. They all have been so synchronized that it stands testimony to the fact that color does have an effect on the human mind and the living beings. Therefore, as we verbally communicate to people in different dialects, so do the effects of colors in nonverbal communication. The best example would be nature.

As a creative artist, Mother Nature has made the best ever color combinations on earth. Whether it is color in flowers, in butterflies or in the other millions of living creatures. We as a civilized world had the basic lessons of the uses and impacts of the colors from Mother Nature.

While Mother Nature has used the same impact for its continuity, reproduction and sustenance, we today make use of the same for our selfish motives. Even more so in getting the target market attracted. To the ever expanding clientele, the language of the color has evolved as an effective marketing tool.

Color Use in Marketing

While determining the color to be used in marketing, one needs to understand the nature of the business, the targeted market or segment, the people, region or age group and a host of other factors. Every color represents a unique characteristic, emotion and personality. It is in fact a symbol of the human mind. The psychology behind the preferred colors is in fact a well researched subject that throws light into the benefits of using appropriate colors to reflect the moods of the situations.

Can anybody think of sending a single dull colored flower bouquet for a birthday of the loved one? That is highly unlikely. The colors speak the language of the heart and needs careful planning and attention so as not to lose the intensity in the communication.

Children are the softest targets of bright colors. Being unaware about the deep pits of life, they tend to get carried away by colors that sparkle and shine. That is why we see all wafers, chocolates and toffee wrappers in bright appealing colors. If you are the one who joins the kids in watching the cartoon network you have seen the impact the colors make on these tiny tots.

It is not only the children who are moved by the colors but every one who has an aesthetic appeal. Having a web site filled with all lifeless and moody colors is unappealing, unless of course the site is something about mourning or of a tragedy. Not only does the web site need to contain the appropriate colors but also the right combination.

A proper mix of colors that is suitable for the occasion and the subject may speak better and convey the right meaning. A site for the holidays for example, needs to focus on colors suitable for the vacation that it offers. A sea side resort would have more focus on blue. A hill resort would have more focus on green. And for a historical place the right combination of grey and brown. One shouldn’t have to read the entire contents of a web site to get an idea of what the site is about.
Convey it by using the language of the colors.

The R&D department of an automobile manufacturer or home products firm knows the value of appealing and innovative colors that get reflected in their new makes year after year. A product that has not moved along with the changing taste and interests quite possibly may not be in existence by this time. Most of the branded products whether it is a health drink or a designer fabric has moved well with the changing tastes and time to stay ahead.

The influence that the logo and the colors make in the minds of the millions of customers the world over has been kept in view while formulating the web sites of the leaders of all the brands. One may not however conclude that it is the color in the marketing that has the final say!

I Have to Write an Article but I Can’t Get Started

I have to write an article but I don’t know where to begin. What topic should I use for today? This blank page is driving me crazy! Nothing is rolling out onto the computer screen! What’s happening to me? Oh, no! It can’t be! It’s … Writers Block!! Have you ever had this happen to you? Let’s see what can be causing this evil writers block. Then maybe it can be over come.

Well, this is what I have come up with. The top four reasons for writers block are Editing instead of Composing, Perfectionism, Concentration or lack there of, and Procrastinating. Do any of these phrases fit your profile for not being able to write? Let’s go through them one by one so we can cut to the chase. That deadline is getting awfully close. We need to get busy and write that article.

The first road block is composing instead of editing. No, that’s not quite right. Let me fix that last sentence. It should read: The first road block to overcome is composing the first draft instead of editing it. Yes, that is much better. Now let’s continue writing. Hold it; I need to correct the spelling of this word. Alright let’s continue.

Next we have perfectionism. Now let me see, I need a really good first line. How can I start my articles first line to grab the reader’s attention? I can’t start to write until I figure out what that first line is going to say. Wow, this could take hours! I’ll never make my deadline!

Lack of total concentration is another culprit that keeps Writers Block going. What was that? The kids are screaming, the phone is ringing, and I have to take care of ageing parents! How can anyone think about writing with all this going on? I see, it is hard to concentrate with daily life situations happening.

Finally, the last culprit of writers block is procrastination. We’ve all done it. We tell ourselves we have plenty of time to write later. I have to do this first. Or you just hate to write to begin with. These are all valid reasons to procrastinate. Or are they?

There it is, some of the evil causes of Writers Block. Now that we know what is causing our dilemma we can be better prepared to deal with it. How? You ask. Just sit down and write what ever is on your mind. Go on a babbling spree and see what you end up with. Don’t worry whether it sounds great or has punctuation or grammar mistakes. You can fix those later. Imagine yourself in a good vacation spot so you can think better. That should help clear your mind of distracting messages. Lastly, just do what you gotta do…Write!

For those who are relatively new in the business, here are 3 proven ways that will get you to the top in no time:

1. Promote your website through offline and online marketing. Get yourself visible even when you’re not connected online. You can add your URL to your business cards, letterheads, or in e-mail signatures. If you’re willing to give out promotional items like mugs or pens, you can embed your web address. If you’re familiar with search engine optimization, then you’re one step ahead than the others. You know what it takes to rank better in search engines, giving you a major boost in getting traffic. 2. Build customer trust through free advertising. Gather testimonials from your customers, which you can put up in your website. You may also create a single-page electronic newsletter and send them out to friends and family members. Encourage them to forward the e-mail to others as well. Blogs can allow you to update your customers with your latest products and services or give away freebies, if you have one. Blogging can also increase your link popularity, which is good for search engine rankings. There are a number of free blogging platforms available. Choose one which you think is going to meet your objectives.

3. Focus on the value, not on the price. If customers can get more than the stated general benefits from your product, then they will clamor for more. Make sure that your products are of high quality and that prices are very reasonable. Concentrate on giving them what they need.

Let’s Get Creative

Why is it that some people seem to have a flow of creative genius and others are lacking? Well, in reality we all have the ability to be creative. It’s just some people don’t realize that they can acquire it just like any other skill. Hopefully through this article I can give you some insight to get your creative genius going.

So how can you get your creative juices flowing? First of all, read everything you can get your hands on. You want to take in as much knowledge and learning as you can. Throughout this process be sure to keep an open mind. You may find a few new facts you didn’t know about that will interest you.

Next, try to draw something every day. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just start out doodling. Yes this will seem like it’s too much effort at first. But think of it this way, every time you try something new it is an effort. Yes it will seem impossible at times. But the longer you keep at it the easier it will become. Just like every thing new you try in your life.

Speaking of new things, when was the last time you were out of your comport zone? Going to different Places often help broaden perspectives. Try going to a new neighborhood or even going to a museum for the first time. But don’t stop with these examples. Keep trying new things, think outside the box. Staying inside the box only limits the creative process.

Another creative thing you can try is photography. Get your camera out and start shooting. These don’t need to be anything spectacular. Don’t worry about capturing an award winning photo, yet. Just experiment and see what you can come up with. Start out small and work your way up.

Finally, just try to open up and talk to people you meet at the store or some other event. You can learn all kinds of interesting things by talking to people. Keep a journal of what you learn from each person. They may have an interesting story to tell. Then with all your journal entries, who knows, you could write your first book! Get Creative!
